Volunteer Southeast Mississippi serves United Way of Southeast Mississippi's four-county service area consisting of Forrest, Lamar, Marion and Perry counties. Volunteer Southeast Mississippi acts as a liaison between community volunteers and nonprofit partners to assist with strategic community outreach efforts. We help individuals and groups find volunteer opportunities that match his/her/their interests and/or skills while helping local nonprofits recruit volunteers.
Our Goal: Volunteer Southeast Mississippi's goal is to inspire, engage and support volunteers by encouraging them to use their time, talent and voices to create positive change in communities across Forrest, Lamar, Marion and Perry countie.
Our Mission: Volunteer Southeast Mississippi fosters a culture of citizenship, service and responsibility in our community by mobilizing the caring power of Southeast Mississippi.
Volunteer Southeast Mississippi creates the opportunity for volunteers to connect with service agencies online as well as allowing service agencies to promote the needs of their organization to volunteers. This is done through a service called GiveGab. Service agencies and volunteers can create a profile within GiveGab to start connecting. Volunteers can sign up for service opportunities and log their service hours within the system for easy documentation of service. Service agencies can list regular needs of the organization and also post service events in order to recruit more volunteers.
