Description & Mission

Extra Table is the result of a partnership between well-known restauranteur Robert St. John and food pantries across the state of Mississippi and fundraises in order to stock those food pantries and soup kitchens with wholesome nutritious food. It is a practical, effective and scalable solution to provide healthy foods to more families in the Pine Belt area. Extra Table connects systems of food purchasing, shipping and charitable distribution to deliver healthy food in bulk to organizations serving those in need.

Meet Mrs. Lorraine.

Mrs. Lorraine is 96 years old and brings box of food to the Marion County Food Pantry each week to donate. However, Mrs. Lorraine hasn't always been able to provide this gift to the organization and her neighbors. Mrs. Lorraine does this act of kindness in thanks to the food pantry for being there for her when she was facing harder times, when making ends meet for her children meant receiving food boxes rather than giving them.

Mrs. Lorraine gives back so that she can help others in need now. We are grateful for the donations made to United Way so that Extra Table can continue to support families like Mrs. Lorraine's.
