United Way of Southeast Mississippi is starting the 2016-2017 campaign season with a “CAN”PAIGN Kickoff on Sept. 8. Staff and volunteers will collect donated non-perishable food and pet supplies at Corner Markets in Hattiesburg (Midtown), Oak Grove (Old Hwy 11) and Petal between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The initiative will benefit Christian Services, Inc., Edwards Street Fellowship, Hub City Humane Society and Southern Pines Animal Shelter.
"Last year's "CAN"PAIGN Kickoff was very successful as we collected over 4,000 pounds of food and supplies. We want to continue to engage the community in helping these non-profits stock up in preparation for the winter months while jump-starting the United Way SEMS campaign" said Tracie Fowler, United Way of SEMS president.
