Who Are They?
DREAM of Hattiesburg, Inc. is a nonprofit agency that began August 1983. Its mission is to prevent and/or reduce the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. DREAM’s vision is “Prevention for Everyone. Everyone for Prevention.” DREAM provides numerous prevention services and programs throughout United Way of Southeast Mississippi's area. One example of the programs DREAM provides is the DREAM Center after-school tutoring program for students in K-12. University and high school volunteers assist students with homework, literacy, science and reading fair projects and other enrichment activities.

United Way dollars are directed toward the after-school tutoring program.
The Impact of Your United Way Investment
Hundreds of youth take part in after-school tutoring, substance abuse prevention activities and leadership development programs. Through the tutoring program, students improve their grades; and student who perform well in school are less likely to abuse drugs, thus allowing them to lead healthier lifestyles.
Volunteers are needed to assist with the tutoring program, building maintenance and other special projects. All volunteers will be subject to a background check.
