Day of Caring
Dozens of volunteers LIVED UNITED by volunteering their time and service with United Way's partners in a community-wide Day of Caring on Oct. 28. The volunteers participated in various service projects, such as improving homes in the Palmer's Crossing community and distributing free books to children through DREAM of Hattiesburg. United Way and The University of Southern Mississippi's Office of Community Service Learning worked together to organize this year's Day of Caring, with several Southern Miss students getting involved.
Day of Caring is a nationwide, annual event sponsored by United Way Worldwide; however, Day of Caring has not been held locally for several years. United Way of Southeast Mississippi was excited to bring back the event, in hopes of starting an annual tradition in our area.
United Way of Southeast Mississippi appreciates all the volunteers who gave their time and service to our community this year. We hope to have an even bigger event next year, so stay tuned!
