The Impact of Your United Way Investment

Thousands of hungry people are fed each year. In addition to the obvious necessity for food, when people are no longer hungry, it improves their self image, changes their social behavior and gives them hope for the future.

United Way at Work

The Meals on Wheels volunteers for Christian Services, through partnership with local churches, deliver lunch meals to homebound senior citizens twice a week. These volunteers provide more than just food. They provide a friendly face, many times the only face that elderly person will see all day. The volunteers often provide other needed assistance. On one occasion, a meal recipient had fallen in her home earlier in the day, but no one was there to help her. When the Meals on Wheels volunteer arrived, she was able to help the lady off the floor and provide the assistance she needed.
